Subs Pocket Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-10
Effective date: 2026-06-26
Subs Pocket (the "App") values your privacy and processes only the minimum information necessary. The App has no developer-operated server and no in-app account system. Your data is stored on your device, and only if you choose to, it is backed up and synced to your own cloud account (iCloud on iOS, Google Drive on Android). No third party — including the developer — can access your data.
1. Information We Store
The App stores the following information you enter, locally on your device:
- Subscription details: name, amount, currency, billing cycle, billing anchor date, memo
- Subscription logo: a photo you select (resized and stored on device) or an image URL
- App settings: display currency, list layout, notification settings, sync settings
This information is never sent to a developer server (none exists). If you enable cloud sync, a copy is stored in your own cloud account as described in Section 6.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
The App does not collect:
- Identifying information such as name, email, or phone number (no in-app account or sign-up)
- Location data
- Advertising identifiers, analytics, or tracking
- Contacts, call logs, or other device data
When you sign in with a Google account for Google Drive backup on Android, the App only uses the access permission (token) needed for backup, and does not collect, store, or transmit your Google profile information (name, email, etc.).
3. Device Permissions
| Permission |
Purpose |
Notes |
| Photo library |
Selecting a photo for a subscription logo |
Only the selected photo is stored on device; never uploaded |
| Notifications |
Payment-date reminders (local notifications) |
Scheduled and shown on device only |
The App does not request camera, microphone, location, or any other permissions.
4. Network Usage
The App accesses the internet only for:
- Exchange rates: fetching rates from a public API (open.er-api.com) for currency conversion. Standard network information (e.g., IP address) may be transmitted to that service, but the App never sends your subscription contents or identifying information.
- Subscription presets: fetching a list of suggested services (name, color, logo) from a remote file. No user information is transmitted.
- Cloud backup/sync (optional): if enabled, your subscription data is transmitted to your own cloud account (Section 6).
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- By default, data lives only on your device and is deleted when you delete the App.
- If you used cloud sync, the backup in your own cloud may remain after deleting the App. See Section 6 for how to remove it.
- The in-app "Export" feature lets you save/share your data as a JSON file; you are responsible for managing that file.
- The developer retains no user data, so no deletion request to the developer is necessary.
6. Cloud Backup/Sync (Optional)
Sync is off by default and runs only if you enable it. Either way, data is stored only in your own cloud account, and the developer cannot access it. The available method depends on your platform — iOS supports iCloud only, and Android supports Google Drive only.
- iCloud (iOS only): stored in the iCloud key-value store tied to your Apple account. No separate sign-in or account creation is required. Protected by Apple's security and terms. To remove: turn off sync in the App, then delete the App's data in iOS Settings → iCloud management.
- Google Drive (Android only): on Android, after signing in with your Google account, data is stored only in Drive's app-private hidden folder (appDataFolder). The App cannot access any other Drive files (scope: drive.appdata). To remove: turn off sync in the App, or go to Google Drive settings → Manage apps → "Delete hidden app data". The iOS app does not include Google Drive backup or Google sign-in.
7. Third-Party Sharing
The App does not provide, share, or sell your personal information to third parties.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 14 (or the applicable age in your country) and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
On-device data is protected by your device's OS security (screen lock, storage protection). Cloud backups are protected by your Apple/Google account security (password, two-factor authentication).
10. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be revised due to legal or service changes. Revisions will be announced via the App or this page.
